UMARATU was established as a center for information, collaboration, and a platform for artisans and communities to develop arts and culture, supported by a team of experts. With the formation of UMARATU, it is hoped that local communities will gain the confidence and access needed to build connections with broader markets in the areas of clothing, food, and shelter, in order to create a healthy economic cycle. With the support of local artisans and artists working together, this initiative aims to elevate the region’s name both in domestic and international markets.
MISSION & VISION
To become a center for the development of arts and education activities with the aim of contributing to the creation of a green economy based on culture and tradition. To conduct research and develop the values of tradition and local wisdom. To interpret, preserve, and practice in innovation within the scope of Indonesian cultural traditions. To strengthen a sustainable but also circular economy through arts and culture. To serve as a facilitator and mediator for collaboration between communities and professionals. To support the preservation of cultural ecosystems rooted in local wisdom. To nurture a new generation capable of contributing to Indonesian culture. To open opportunities for youth and women to promote skills and entrepreneurship in the fields of arts, culture, and tourism.
